RS Year 7

Introduction

The story from science is that the Universe began with the Big Bang. But religion says that the Universe was made by God. What’s the truth? What are we meant to believe?

In this unit, we put science and religion side by side so that we can compare them and draw some conclusions.

What do you think – can science and religion both be right?

We asked pupils what they think. Here are some examples of what they said.

What’s curious about this situation is that usually if you have a question, a teacher or an expert can tell you the answer.

But on the question of ‘How the Universe began’, no one seems to know for sure. Why is that? How have we ended up in a situation where the world doesn’t agree on what happened? Is it just because the Universe began a long time ago and no one was there to see it?
